ABOUT THE PROJECT

We are globally facing the challenge of our generation: climate crisis. Extreme weather events, rising sea levels, and biodiversity loss are just a few of the threats posed by a warming planet. The European Union is at the forefront of the global fight against climate change and environmental degradation, becoming a leader in sustainability. Recognizing the urgency, the EU has made sustainability and combatting climate change central priorities. They’ve set ambitious goals to reduce greenhouse gas emissions significantly by 2030 and achieve climate neutrality by 2050. This “European Green Deal” drives many current programs, encouraging sustainable practices in agriculture, transportation, and resource use. Initiatives promote responsible digital citizenship and equip people with the tools to advocate for environmental issues online.

The project aims to empower young people to become leaders in the fight against climate change by enhancing their ecological responsibility, promoting active involvement, strengthening their emotional connection to the environment, fostering digital literacy, and empowering digital communication to promote sustainable practices. Through workshops, educational materials, and interactive sessions, participants will gain a deeper understanding of how their actions impact the environment and how they can adopt sustainable habits in their daily lives.

PROJECT OBJECTIVES

  1. Enhancing ecological responsibility: Educating youth on sustainable practices and the importance of reducing carbon and digital footprints.

ABOUT MARINA DI MASSA

With the Ligurian Sea on the horizon, expanses of golden sand as far as the eye can see, and the rugged Apuan massif behind it, this is the unique area that frames Marina di Massa, near the border with Liguria. To see a real development of the center it is necessary to go as far as the nineteenth century when the reclamation was finally completed. Between the end of the 19th and the beginning of the 20th century, Marina di Massa established itself as a seaside resort, becoming one of the most popular destinations on this stretch of coast. Marina di Massa ended up becoming a holiday seaside destination in keeping with trends of the time, involving a flow of aristocrats who bequeathed numerous buildings and villas in liberty and decò style. Marina di Massa offers an amazing seaside view in the shade of the beautiful coastal pine forests as well as hosting a lively nightlife. This is high-quality fresh food, especially fish, and wine.
