DJHT is the biggest summit for the child and youth welfare community in Europe. DJHT with more than 200 professional events, supports the qualification of experts and provides diverse stimuli. Europe@DJHT offers a broad programme in English.
What’s it all about?
DJHT, also referred to in German as Deutscher Kinder- und Jugendhilfetag – the German Child and Youth Welfare Congress – is organised by Germany’s Child and Youth Welfare Association (AGJ) every three or four years, bringing together experts and other interested individuals from all over Germany and Europe to exchange opinions and experiences and strengthen networks.
Together with the AGJ, the German National Agency, JUGEND für Europa, organises a specialised European programme of events at DJHT17.
Europe@DJHT invites participants (youth workers and trainers, youth project managers and youth policy makers, and youth researchers) to join in critical discussions of current challenges and topics for welfare of young people and youth policy across Europe. Besides, it provides an opportunity to networking, sharing of good practices and peer-learning. Therefore, join us!
What’s in it?
We will set up an exciting three-day programme built around the questions of what challenges youth work has to face and what youth work can offer in these challenging times in Europe. For all events of Europe@DJHT simultaneous interpretation into and from German and English will be available:
→ Up to 30 events of the European programme Europe@DJHT, dealing with a variety of experiences, developments and trends in European youth work, European youth policy, international exchange and mobility as well as opportunities for further training for organisations and professionals from international youth work community.
→ An expert forum entitled Shrinking Spaces: Youth Work under Pressure as part of Europe@DJHT discussing how space for civil society engagement and especially for youth work in Europe is affected by current political, social, legal and financial developments.
