RYCO in Bosnia and Herzegovina Strengthen Capacities of Schools

RYCO Local Branch Office in Bosnia and Herzegovina, with the support of the OSCE Mission to Bosnia and Herzegovina, organized a capacity building training for representatives of secondary schools, which took place from 21 January to 11 February. The training strengthened participants’ capacities on project development and design in the areas of youth cooperation, mobility and activism.

Given the current circumstances of the COVID-19 pandemic, the capacity building training was organized in an online format. The participants attended 2-hour long online workshops each week due to the impossibility of holding physical gatherings.

The training was designed to ensure that potential RYCO beneficiaries are equipped with the necessary skills and information to apply for the RYCO Open Calls, as well as to get a better understanding on the topics and priorities of RYCO’s work such as reconciliation, dealing with the past, intercultural learning and dialogue.

The activities and weekly meetings were held by the Official Consultant for Project Management and Strategic Planning Mr Ilija Trninić in his capacity as a trainer.

“I would like to take this opportunity to show my appreciation for a well-organized training. You have, most definitely, surpassed my expectations and have shown me, in practical ways, how I can improve my lectures as well as improve the knowledge of my students,” one of the participants, Ms Lejla Hujdur emphasized, by also underlining the importance of Mr Trninić’s support during the training.

Participants stated that the training provided them with an opportunity to strengthen their capacities and expressed their interest to follow RYCO’s work in the region more closely. In addition, they noted that it is rare for a training with this topic and focus to have such a big impact on them, highlighting that organizers and the trainer were very approachable and willing to help achieve the objectives. Finally, the participants of the training expressed their desire and willingness to network with each other with the hope of becoming potential partners on RYCO’s future Open Calls for Project Proposals.
