CALL FOR APPLICATIONS: Youth 4 Inclusion, Equality & Trust (Y4IET)

About the Program

The Foundation BFPE for a Responsible Society, supported by UNDP Serbia, and in cooperation with UNDP & UNFPA Albania, is inviting youth to participate in a chain of activities organized within the regional joint UN initiative Youth 4 Inclusion, Equality & Trust (Y4IET), supported by the UN Secretary-General’s Peacebuilding Fund.

We are looking for 25 young artists and community leaders (aged 20–29) who want to design and implement community-based initiatives and projects that foster inclusion, equality, and trust in the region.

Why apply?

As a selected participant, you will:

  • Join a dynamic community of young artists and community leaders across the region
  • Collaborate with experienced mentors in your field
  • Design and implement your own community-based initiative during a structured mentorship phase

Your initiative should be rooted in one or more of the following creative fields:

  • Photography
  • Video/Filmmaking
  • Writing/Journalism
  • Theatre/Performance
  • Visual Arts/Design
  • Digital Media/Social Media Campaigns

Focus Areas Could Include:

  • Shared art, culture, and traditions in the region
  • Innovative awareness-raising campaigns
  • Addressing youth cooperation and regional challenges
  • Other relevant topics identified by youth

Examples of Creative Outputs:

  • Short videos, vlogs, or human-interest stories
  • Articles, essays, comics
  • Theater, dance, or performance art
  • Podcasts, living libraries (local or regional)
  • Visual arts: data-art, illustrations, photography
  • Music, spoken word, rap/hip-hop activism
  • Digital tools: mobile apps, interactive installations, games

Implementation Criteria:

  • We strongly encourage regional collaboration, and priority will be given to projects that engage youth, artists, or communities across the region.
  • Projects must be regionally relevant and feasible to implement remotely.
  • Whether you’re documenting untold stories, launching a multimedia campaign, or staging a regional performance, your vision matters—and it has the power to drive positive messages throughout the region.

Program Components

Only 25 participants will be selected to take part in the full program, which includes:

3-day Regional Workshop    Ruma, Serbia | 10 – 12 October 2025

3-day Creative Boot Camp   Albania | October/November 2025

Mentorship Phase   Implement your community-based project with expert guidance I 2025- 2026

Participation in all activities is mandatory. Availability, active contribution, and commitment throughout the entire program are required.

The working language is English.

The organizers will cover all travel, accommodation, and food expenses.

Participants will be mentored, and selected initiatives will receive financial support for their implementation as part of the program.

Minimum Eligibility Criteria

Applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • Age: 20–29 years old
  • Community Influence: Have influence in their community or be part of a youth network; potential community leaders or digital influencers with a proven ability to mobilize peers around social issues
  • Experience in Arts/Media: Prior involvement in journalism, cinematography, theater, painting, graphics, broadcasting, filmmaking, or related creative fields
  • Motivation: Clear passion for media, storytelling, and social change
  • Communication Skills: Ability to express ideas clearly and work collaboratively in teams
  • Creativity & Innovation: A drive to think differently and explore new approaches
  • Adaptability: Ability to work in dynamic and fast-changing environments
  • Professionalism: Responsible, punctual, and respectful conduct
  • Technical Skills: Basic skills in video editing, design, or coding are an advantage
