AIM OF THE PROJECT

The project aims to empower youth workers with essential skills in expressing themselves, conveying emotions, and fostering cultural understanding through the medium of mobile photography. Focused on the vibrant cultural heritage of Sarajevo city, the project seeks to not only enhance cultural appreciation but also cultivate a sense of social responsibility among youth workers.

The participants will take part in workshops focusing on mobile photography techniques, composition, and the use of editing tools. These workshops will provide youth workers with practical skills that they can apply in their personal and professional lives. Furthermore, participants will be encouraged to capture their experience through mobile photography and will try to address specific social issues. Through the Training Course, participants will have resources and mentors who will help them create compelling visual stories that raise awareness and promote community involvement.

Through the project, youth workers will not only develop valuable skills in mobile photography but also contribute to a more culturally aware and socially responsible community in Sarajevo. This project seeks to enhance the power of visual storytelling to inspire positive change and foster a deeper connection between youth workers and their cultural heritage. Additionally, participants will get the opportunity to showcase their photography.

The Training Course will involve 35 youth workers. It will be targeting youth workers and youth leaders based in the countries of the European Union (the Netherlands, Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Romania, Slovakia and Spain) and the Neighboring countries (Armenia, Albania, Georgia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, the Republic of North Macedonia, Republic of Moldova and Ukraine)

OBJECTIVES OF THE PROJECT

  1. Equipping youth workers with the necessary skills to express their emotions and ideas effectively through mobile photography. This includes teaching them composition techniques, lighting, and the use of various mobile photography apps to enhance their creative expression.
  2. Immersing youth workers in the rich cultural history of Sarajevo. Through guided mobile photography activities, participants will explore historical landmarks, traditional practices, and modern aspects of the city, fostering a deeper appreciation for its diverse cultural heritage.
  3. Participants will be encouraged to use mobile photography as a tool to enhance cultural understanding among youth workers. By encouraging them to document and share their perspectives on Sarajevo’s culture, participants will contribute to a collective narrative that promotes cross-cultural appreciation and unity.
  4. Directing youth workers towards mobile photography projects that address social issues within Sarajevo. By capturing and sharing impactful images, participants will raise awareness about local challenges and cultivate a sense of social responsibility, inspiring positive change within their communities.
  5. Promoting the integration of technology in education by incorporating mobile photography techniques into the learning process. This not only enhances the technological literacy of youth workers but also provides them with a dynamic and engaging educational experience.

GOALS OF THE PROJECT

The goals of this project are to enrich participants’ fundamental technical knowledge and skills in the field of mobile photography, fostering a deeper understanding and proficiency in the art form. Additionally, the project seeks to promote cultural exchange and dialogue among youth workers coming from diverse backgrounds, using mobile photography as a powerful tool for cross-cultural connection. The project aims to not only develop participants’ expertise in effectively sharing their mobile photography projects but also emphasizes the usage of social media and other communication channels to amplify their impact.

Furthermore, the project aims to shine a spotlight on the tourist and cultural potential of Sarajevo city by encouraging participants to use their mobile photography skills to highlight and promote the unique aspects of the city. By doing so, the project aims to contribute to the broader cultural landscape and attract attention to the richness of Sarajevo’s heritage.

Lastly, the project places a strong focus on sustainability by aiming to ensure the quality of the networks formed during the initiative. It seeks to foster a sense of lasting collaboration among youth workers, promoting ongoing engagement and cooperation beyond the project’s duration.

PARTICIPANTS PROFILE

It is created for young people from 18 years who are eager to extend their knowledge, upgrade their skills, and broaden their horizons. Participants must come from the following countries:

  • BiH (4 participants)
  • Türkiye (15 participants)
  • North Macedonia (5 participants)
  • Kosovo (2 participants)
  • Albania (4 participants)

Participants must be able to communicate in English. Participants must attend all training sessions and actively participate in them.

IMPORTANT NOTE

The special advantages during the selection process will be given to the candidates who speak the Turkish language.

ABOUT HOSTING ORGANIZATION

The Bosnian Representative Association for Valuable Opportunities (BRAVO) is a non-profit and non-governmental organization. The things that make this organization outstanding and ready to assume responsibility are core principles: tolerance, democracy, diversity, voluntariness, and openness.

Our general target group is youth within the age range of 15 to 35, but we focus on all people in need of help and our support. Bearing that in mind, we say that we care for people from 3 to 103. The focus of our organization is on international projects, including all sectors and topics mentioned above, but at the same time, working with people with fewer opportunities and taking care of European values and principles. We are working with institutions for people with disabilities, such as institutions for deaf and blind people. Through our activities, in cooperation with institutions and organizations led by people with disabilities, we are teaching silent language and doing sports activities with blind people. In our projects as coordinators or hosting organizations, we love to bring participants to one of these two institutions and allow them to learn something new.

ACCOMMODATION, FOOD & TRAVELLING

Participants will be accommodated in Hotel BM International

The hotel is located on the main road between the city center and the smaller city center called Ilida. It has parking for guests, and two tram stops are only a couple of minutes away. Whether it’s about individuals or entire families, the hotel offers tourists comfort and quality service, and business customers can even rent an office or business premises for several days as needed. Hotel BM International apartments have separate bedrooms, a separate kitchen with a dining area, a mini-bar, and a bathroom with a toilet. Cable TV, telephone, and free internet access over a wireless network are just a few of the details included in this offer. During the stay, food will be prepared by experienced cooks, provided at the venue. Three meals and two coffee breaks per day will be provided.
