Comedy theatre – 2nd edition

This course will make the participants gain tools on how to express themselves through humor, how to use laughter to connect with their target groups and improve their self and world awareness.
Dear people who want to use humor and laughter in their work with young people, association “ALTER Network” goes online with our first online training course. The topic: COMEDY THEATRE.
We will learn together and practice:
- How to use comedy theatre methodologies with your target groups.
- How to express yourself using humor as the main tool to reach your public.
- How to explore failure and learn to laugh at oneself and one’s surroundings (respecting) and how to implement these techniques with the groups you work with.
- How to develop creative responses to situations and stimulate the creation of empathic relationships with youngsters.
- How to be able to see realities from different perspectives and reduce the barriers of self and general judgment in your work.
The comedy theater methodologies that we will use are improvisation, clowning, stand-up comedy, community theater, and body expression.
Through working on the basics of comedy theater we seek to increase the self-awareness of the participants by creating a safe space to laugh, have fun and give them the tools to create the same space for their target groups.
Youth workers with humor tools and techniques to use in their work with youth will be able to accompany and reach the group in a more empathetic and close way
We will meet every Thursdays (6, 13, 20, 27 May & 3, 10 June) between 18:30 and 20:00 CET in a comfortable ZOOM room and we will mainly do exercises and games. You will have the opportunity to practice (learning by doing) and to meet people from all over the world who have something to share and express.
The price of the course is 60 EUR for the 6 sessions. We keep it as low as possible (basically to cover our expenses), so that everybody can join and learn together.
