ABOUT THE PROJECT

Hey everyone! Akwedukt Association is looking for 2 long-term ESC volunteers to work in our Youth Center!


As a youth worker, you will:

• Create and deliver engaging workshops

• Propose different activities

• Support youngsters in their development and learning process

• Be a mentor of our local youth

• Help shape their futures while growing both personally and professionally

PARTICIPANTS’ PROFILE

What do we expect from you?

• Independence

• Creativity

• Willingness to work with youth

• Willingness to work in the afternoon and some weekends

• Advanced level of English and willingness to learn some Polish

• 18-29

VOLUNTEERS’ TASKS

  • The volunteer will work full-time with the Hosting Organization team from Monday to Sunday, totaling a minimum of 35 hours per week with two days off. This may require flexibility to work evenings and weekends, depending on events in the local community. Additionally, they may collaborate with other ESC volunteers in associated schools, kindergartens, and local institutions to develop joint projects and events.
  • We seek motivated candidates with proactive, creative problem-solving skills, initiative, well-honed organizational abilities, and at least basic English proficiency. The ideal candidate enjoys public speaking, embraces daily routines, and is highly motivated to organize diverse activities that enhance integration among Polish and international students, children, and youth.
  • Volunteer responsibilities involve inspiring youth participation in civic life and fostering personal and European identity development. Ideal candidates are self-motivated, forward-thinking individuals who are proactive in planning and executing activities vital to local communities.

ABOUT HOSTING ORGANIZATION

Akwedukt is an NGO committed to catalyzing societal change and broadening community opportunities. Through various initiatives such as training courses, establishment of a Youth Center, facilitating Youth Exchanges, and organizing camps for children, we aim to empower individuals and communities. Our mission is centered on promoting awareness of volunteering and advocating for its significance in society.

TRAVEL AND COST LIMITS:

Bosnia and Herzegovina – Fully Covered

  • Free Accommodation: Double room. Houses are fully equipped (kitchen, bathrooms, washing machine, etc.). Note: be ready to share your flat with other volunteers of the other gender (not rooms!).
  • Monthly allowance:
    • Pocket money: 150 euro/month (approx. 650 PLN)
    • Food money: 600 PLN/month
  • Insurance: European Health Card and Henner
  • Language courses: Online Linguistic Support, possible lessons in person, according to availability
