The European Commission\u2019s support for the production of this publication does not constitute an endorsement of the contents, which reflect the views only of the authors, and the Commission nor EACEA can be held responsible for any use which may be made of the information contained therein.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">ACTIVITIES<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Our KulturHaus opens its doors to <strong>more than 400 participants of youth exchanges and trainings per year<\/strong>. As a <strong>Sustainability volunteer<\/strong>, you will have an opportunity to <strong>facilitate a learning process<\/strong> for these young people <strong>creating a learning environment<\/strong> that will encourage them to engage with nature and learn more about <strong>gardening and sustainability<\/strong>. Your tasks will include:<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Together with a Sustainability intern (if position is filled), <strong>planning the space<\/strong> surrounding KulturHaus, designing various <strong>areas and strategies for nature-related activities<\/strong>;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>M<\/strong><strong>aintaining the garden and house<\/strong> (taking care of the plants, compost, bird houses, beehive);<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Working with <strong>youth exchange and training groups<\/strong>, supporting them in exploring the space and their own potential while implementing local solidarity actions and immersing in gardening, especially on our ESC Team activity in May;\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>I<\/strong><strong>mplementing new ideas<\/strong> to make the space around the house even more welcoming and engaging;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Working together with the team members in all areas of NaturKultur e.V. and especially with our other three volunteers in Social Media, Content Creation and Local Connections.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Organizing small local projects for the community of Bremen together with the other 16 ESC volunteers in Bremen.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>To get a better idea of what this position entails, you can read <a href=\"https:\/\/www.naturkultur.eu\/en\/nina-in-bremen-final-report\/\">Nina\u2019s final report<\/a> about her voluntary service with us.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">VOLUNTEERS WILL<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>A person who&nbsp;who is passionate about <strong>nature and DIY<\/strong> \u2013 you do not need to have previous experience, just be open and motivated to try new things! <strong>Please be aware that this project involves working in the garden in KulturHaus not only but also on your own. You will be asked to work&nbsp;there&nbsp;two days of the week at least.&nbsp;<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><br>We work <strong>3 days<\/strong> together <strong>in the office<\/strong> per week, otherwise <strong>remotely<\/strong>. Our team does not only live in Bremen but also in other parts of Germany or abroad. This is why we have a very special working culture, being very different from many other organisations and we are looking for someone who likes<strong> to work independently<\/strong>. This is a project where self-initiative and implementation of own ideas is encouraged and developed and we will help you to learn everything you need, to become even more independent throughout the project.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">VOLUNTEER PROFILE<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>\u2026 are <strong>between 18-30 years old<\/strong> (on the day you start your ESC)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>\u2026 can communicate in <strong>English<\/strong> (A2-B1) OR <strong>German<\/strong> (A2)\u00a0 and are willing to improve your language skills in German and English. Our NaturKultur team in Bremen speaks English, German, Macedonian, and Slovenian<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>\u2026 are interested in <strong>gardening, hands-on work<\/strong>, and love both <strong>teamwork<\/strong> and doing <strong>your own thing<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>\u2026 love to be creative and are passionate about <strong>making a positive change in society<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>\u2026 have <strong>patience<\/strong> and <strong>care<\/strong> about helping other people grow<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>\u2026 are an <strong>open-minded<\/strong> person, <strong>motivated to work in a team and with people from different religious, cultural and social backgrounds<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>The European Solidarity Corps is financing the voluntary service. The mission of the ESC is to bring people from different backgrounds together to form a society based on mutual acceptance, solidarity and cohesion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">ABOUT HOSTING ORGANIZATION<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>We are a youth organisation that is focused on <strong>international youth work<\/strong>. In 2023 we organized 15&nbsp; Youth Exchanges and training courses, and we are sending young people on many international projects abroad. Above that we are provider of the On-Arrival and Midterm-Seminars for volunteers in Germany, we host 7-8 of these trainings per year. We are also the <strong>coordinating organization<\/strong> for volunteering opportunities \u2013 that means that we are organising voluntary services in Bremen and also send German youngsters abroad.<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Our office is located in <strong>Bremen<\/strong>, but we organize our projects in our <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/kulturgruppenhaus.de\/\">KulturHaus<\/a> in Garlstedt<\/strong>, which is close to Osterholz-Scharmbeck and 30 min by car from Bremen.<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Our <strong>local and international project<\/strong>s aim to encourage and support young people through <strong>non-formal learning opportunities<\/strong>, especially focusing on the topics of <strong>interculturalism, tolerance, diversity and understanding among the different cultures in Europe<\/strong>. We are also organizing <strong>local events<\/strong> in Bremen and extending our network in the area by cooperating with other organizations and institutions.<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>So, who\u2019s on our team? Here\u2019s our <a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/naturkultur_e.v\/\">Instagram<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/channel\/UCPwi7EATlx2EMFj_m6az8qg\">YouTube Channel<\/a>!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">TRAVEL AND COST LIMITS:<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Bosnia and Herzegovina \u2013 Fully Covered<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>You will be accommodated in a house just for ESC volunteers in Bremen, where you will have your own room.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Bremen\"><strong>Bremen<\/strong><\/a>&nbsp;is a city in North-West Germany (around 500.000 inhabitants), not far from Hamburg and the North Sea coast. Bremen is a vibrant, multi-cultural city with a lot of young people and both a historical centre and newer areas of towns.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As an ESC volunteer, you will receive&nbsp;<strong>health insurance,&nbsp;monthly pocket money for food and other expenses (290\u20ac + 210\u20ac)<\/strong>.&nbsp;<strong>Travel costs<\/strong> will be reimbursed depending on the travel distance (<strong>normally between 211-395\u20ac<\/strong>).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>You will be supported by a&nbsp;<strong>Coordinator&nbsp;<\/strong>and a&nbsp;<strong>Mentor<\/strong> to help you get settled in your work place and the city of Bremen.
