PROJECT BACKGROUND<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Women\u2019s economic empowerment is an essential asset to achieving gender equality. However, in most countries, worldwide men outnumber women in leadership positions in every sector globally, including business, non-profits, government, education, medicine, the military, and religion. This gender gap often referred to by the metaphor \u201cglass ceiling\u201d represents one of the most critical challenges to achieving gender equity and allowing equitable working opportunities to all genders. Given the urgency of achieving gender equity, which encompasses promoting women\u2019s leadership and including men in the process, the capacity-building project LEO \u2013 Leadership is for Everyone was created. The project aims to enhance women\u2019s leadership, develop NFE resources for youth workers and young people, promote men\u2019s involvement in women\u2019s empowerment, and strengthen the synergies between youth work and the labor market.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
WHAT IS A JOB SHADOWING<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Job shadowing is a useful way to learn about particular practices and work of other NGOs, in this specific case High on Life Italy. Job shadowing involves spending time following a professional as they work. By observing the professional you can get a better understanding of Non-formal learning methods. You will observe and follow an employee and observe them partaking in their day-to-day work. They might ask you to help with certain tasks or to prepare some workshops. In the same period of the Job Shadowing, Erasmus+ Youth Exchange will be hosted and it will gather 36 participants from 6 different countries, so this will present a great opportunity to involve in the activities of the Youth Exchange and be part of the behind-the-scenes of such project.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
PROFILE of PARTICIPANTS<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Female participants, 18+<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Willing to develop and share best practices of non-formal learning<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Youth, NGO activists, volunteers, youth workers, young leaders<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Basic knowledge of English, able to communicate in English<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Open-minded, proactive, and interested to learn more about other cultures<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Eager to learn more about women\u2019s leadership, empowerment, and equal rights<\/p>\n\n\n\n
ACCOMMODATION, FOOD & TRAVEL COSTS<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The participants will be accommodated in \u201cHotel Umberto\u201d just 3 km from Tropea Center. The participants will stay in a double room with private bathrooms in the room. Bathroom products and beach towels are NOT provided. Please bring it with you!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
High on Life will provide you with three meals per day and coffee breaks. Breakfast lunch and dinner will be served in the Hotel restaurant.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The main activity room is located in the same area. We\u2019ll try to do most of the activities outdoor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The nearest airport from Tropea is Lamezia Terme. You can book a flight to Lamezia Terme with a stop in Rome or Milan or a direct flight to Rome or Naples and then take a train\/bus from Rome\/Naples to Tropea.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We are a movement of people \u201cHigh on Life\u201d that loves to travel, explore, get connected with different cultures and live all the experiences of our life with a positive attitude! We believe that young people must become a driving force in building the society in which they live and therefore we create various opportunities in order to help shape a generation that is determined to change our country and the world for the better. All the participants will be expected to be present and active in all the activities, with the exception of illness.. Unauthorized absence from the activities and workshops won\u2019t be allowed. This is a European project and not a vacation. You will however get free time for visiting and discover of the island. We expect everyone to share positive energy all throughout the exchange to encourage cohesion. Prepare to have fun!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
ABOUT TROPEA<\/p>\n\n\n\n
All the participants will be expected to be present and active in all the activities, with Tropea in Italy is one of the most spectacular seaside towns in the Mediterranean. Tropea is a pretty old city set atop gorgeous tall cliffs, overlooking expansive sandy beaches with clear turquoise water. It was named \u201cMost beautiful village in Italy. Legend recounts that Hercules founded the town upon return from his labors at the Pillars of Hercules, today\u2019s Strait of Gibraltar.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Visitors will find the hero\u2019s name gracing the main square, Piazza Ercole. But Tropea\u2019s history goes well beyond the mythological, with discoveries of ancient Greek tombs and a Roman port in the area. the exception of illness..
