ABOUT THE PROJECT<\/p>\n\n\n\n
We are looking for volunteers, who are motivated to work with others to accomplish collective goals, are creative, prepared to do some physical work and care for the environment. You will create new things we can use from old furniture, clothes, jewellery etc.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
You will use it and reuse it to make it useful again. Volunteering hours will add up to 35 hours per week. Activities will be diverse and a good learning opportunity for volunteers. Volunteers will have the opportunity to meet other volunteers included in the project and connect with local youth.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
ACTIVITY DESCRIPTION<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The responsibilities of volunteers will be:<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Collecting and designing DIY ideas and making them happen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Collecting old and used material, renovating it and make it usable again.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Designing and renovating one room in the youth centre with the help of local youngsters, by using furniture and other things renovated beforehand.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Taking part in the training held by the centre for reusing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Promoting the project and the youth centre in local environment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Preparing their own activities\/projects, which will depend on the interest of the volunteers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Working with graphic design (knowledge of the graphic programmes is not necessary).<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Promotion of international programmes in the local environment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Promotion of the programme of the youth centre (taking photos, making posters etc.)<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Working and collaborating with 11 other volunteers included in the project.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Promotion of volunteer\u2019s culture<\/p>\n\n\n\n
PARTCIPANTS PROFILE<\/p>\n\n\n\n
We are looking for 12 volunteers, aged between 18 and 30 years old.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Voulnteers should be:<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u2013 fluent in English<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u2013 prepared to collect some creative ideas on how to reuse old things, put them to work and make them happen,<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u2013 flexible in working hours (35 hours per week, mornings and afternoons, occasionally also weekends),<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u2013 prepared to do some physical work,<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u2013 would like to spend time with local youth and other participants.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
WHAT WILL YOU GET AS VOLUNTEER
ESC projects represent a big learning opportunity for volunteers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
During this project volunteers will:<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u2013 get to know European solidarity corps and Youthpass;<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u2013 learn, what you can do with used material to preserve our enviorment,<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u2013 reflect on the competences gained during the project and make a self<\/p>\n\n\n\n
-assesment before and after the project;<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u2013 learn how to organise your work;<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u2013 learn different non-formal learning and reflection methods;<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u2013 learn how to work in a groups and in intercultural environment;<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u2013 improve communication in English;<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u2013 gain social competences.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
If you are still hesitating, we have a good news. As a volunteer all of the expenses are covered by the project. You will get:<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u2013 money for the transportation (to Slovenia and local transport to come to work);<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u2013 accomodation in hostel (including linen and towels);<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u2013 money for food expanses (180 euros);<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u2013 pocket money (4 euros\/day).<\/p>\n\n\n\n
ABOUT HOSTING ORGANIZATION<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Youth Centre Dom\u017eale is a public body, which was established in 1998 by Municipality of Dom\u017eale. It is an organization that mainly provides activities and support for youth, aged between 7 and 30 years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The principal aims of the Youth Centre Dom\u017eale are: \u2013 to provide support for youth; \u2013 to give them opportunity to spend their free time wisely and \u2013 to encourage them to get actively involved in a society on a local, national and international level. To achieve these goals we run various indoor and outdoor activities, which are held by Youth Centre Dom\u017eale alone or in cooperation with other Slovenian and international organizations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Fields of activities include: educational activities, volunteer work, culture and creativity workshops, sport activities, information and consulting, international projects, intergenerational activities, participation and active citizenship.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
HOW TO REACH VENUE<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The easiest, but unfortunatelly often the most expensive, way to reach Slovenia by plane is to fly to airport \u201cLetali\u0161\u010de Jo\u017eeta Pu\u010dnika Ljubljana\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
You can also fly to nearby airports, like Venice, Zagreb, Graz, Milan and Klagenfurt. From there you can take FlixBus or GoOpti. GoOpti works like public transport, but is much faster and adaptable. They have connection from all of the nearest airports.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
More information about the prices and destinations you can find on their website www.goopti.com. If you travel by GoOpti reserve the transport to the hostel (Ljubljanska cesta 1, Dob). If you travel with FlixBus, other buses and trains to Ljubljana city centre, take another bus to Dob pri Dom\u017ealah.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The ticket costs 2,7 euros. You are elegible to use public transfer. The amount that we cover for travel expenses depends on the distance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
We will use European Solidarity Corps funding rules:<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u2013 100-499 km: 180 \u20ac<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u2013 500-1999 km: 275 \u20ac<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u2013 2000-2999km: 360 \u20ac<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u2013 3000-3999km: 530 \u20ac.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

ACCOMODATION<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Volunteers will be accomodated in the hostel Hi\u0161a na travniku, which is located in Dob. The distance to the Youth Center and the centre of Dom\u017eale is approxiametly 10-15 minutes with the bus or 40 minutes by foot.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In each of the rooms there will be maximum 3 volunteers. The showers and toilets are shared. There is also a small terace and a large common room with the kitchen and TV. Free wi-fi is provided in the hostel.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
