Training course "Local Youth Councils for Quality Participation in the Digital Sphere"

Training Course

14-21 September 2025 | Mollina, Spain

This training will equip youth leaders and workers in local councils with the skills, knowledge, and tools to become trainers, facilitators, and multipliers of quality youth participation in local communities.

The primary focus of this training course is to equip youth leaders and youth workers engaged in local youth councils or similar participatory structures with the knowledge, skills, and tools to become trainers, facilitators and multipliers of quality youth participation at the local level. By supporting the development of a European network of peer educators, the course aims to build capacity for participatory, inclusive, and sustainable Local Youth Councils that are responsive to the evolving digital landscape.

Local Youth Councils (LYCs) are vital spaces for fostering democratic engagement, youth representation, and policy dialogue at the municipal level. However, in an age where social media and digital platforms have become primary channels for civic expression and political communication, LYCs must evolve to navigate digital risks and promote media literacy and safe online engagement among young people.

This training of facilitators will allow participants to deepen their understanding of quality standards for LYCs, explore digital challenges to democratic participation, and develop the competences to deliver training and support to LYCs in their communities.
